Julenisse of Kindness

Finished up my Julenisse doll and the pattern is now available.

This project was inspired by a blog I read on Kindness elves. I liked the idea so I decided to make our own version.

In upholding our families traditions of celebrating the Nisse and Tomte I wanted to capture that spirit in a little visitor, someone who can hang out every year with Julebukk.

You can find the pattern for this doll with outfit in my stores, link here... http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/julenisse-of-knidness

New goodies

I was able to finish a couple of projects this past week, one was a custom order for my cousin and the other an item for myself. This week I will be working on a  custom pair of lace gloves that I am very excited about. I am having a few health issues at the moment and really hoping they don't slow me down too much.

Here is the little custom bag I made.

(c) Full Knitted Jacket, April 2012
I think it is just too darling. She really liked the little mitts I made a while back and asked for a purse made just like them.

(c) Full Knitted Jacket, April 2012
I am modeling them together here.

(c) Full Knitted Jacket, April 2012
It is made in the Tunisian stitch according to my pattern, with a longer strap to be worn across the body, with a cross stitch Scottish Thistle.

I am just in love with the mitts and the purse! I think I need to find some more of this yarn so I can make myself one!

The other project I finished up this past week was a little purse for me.

(c) Full Knitted Jacket, April 2012
I was inspired to make this one after finishing up the last custom one. These are just so nice I really felt it was time to make one for myself.

(c) Full Knitted Jacket, April 2012
These are so great, it's like not even carrying anything at all! I can slip my cell phone or my camera in this and carry it all over. A great handy thing for catching photo opps of the baby while gardening.

(c) Full Knitted Jacket, April 2012

I added a little cross stitch heart to match the mittens I made a while back.

On top of the fiber crafts I have been trying to keep up with the season and my gardening, which will have an ever increasing demand from now through till fall, tending our new baby chicks, and trying to keep up with our ever more active toddler. It's a wonderfully busy life, but a pretty darn blessed one I must say.

Today we had a picnic lunch on the kitchen floor. Bear and I sat their cross legged eating our strawberries and fruit while watching the baby chicks pecking away at strawberry tops, happily chirping as the sun shined in on us through the kitchen windows. A pretty darn good life indeed!

Yarn blogs

Here is a really great yarn blog I really want to share. Just read how much time and love goes into the yarn she dyes. It really says something about the ma and pa businesses out there. It really makes one think about their next yarn purchase. It feels really good to me to buy from someone who puts so much love into what they create instead of something that is just handled by machines and mass produced!

I also just love the that she is a "real people", I can totally relate to her sweater gone bad issue. I have been there many a time as have most knitters!

Anyway, check out her blog, subscribe, shes a great lady that I would love to see get even more support.

Busy Busy Busy

I have been a busy bee over here, which means a neglected blog!

First I have decided I need to cut back from fan of the week to fan of the month. I hate to do this but I made my decision for two reasons. First, my weekends slip by so fast I found I kept forgetting to do my drawings. And second, I simply need more page activity to make it worth the effort. I would be more than willing to step it back up to weekly drawings if my page starts getting enough activity, but till we are getting enough likes and comments  a week to warrant a weekly drawing, I think fan of the month will have to do.

So don't forget to stop by, tell you friends, and be active for your chance to win! I really really want to make you a winner!

So new goodies! There are socks and purses and sweaters and all sorts of goodies to share today.

I have a brand new, heavenly soft spring sweater. It is cuddly beyond belief, worked in a  pallet of pastel beauty, pale pinks, purples, white and blues with little tweed tufts in complimenting colors of yellow, pink and blue. The buttons are Beatrix Potter character buttons, little Mamma and baby Cotton Tail in yellow and blue.

Of Earth and Wool

I have been a  total blog slacker as of late, but it is for good reason! I have been super busy with custom orders, helping bear become potty independent, and gardening. The garden prep stage is the most time consuming! And boy do we have a ton of garden area to prep. This year we are adding a side garden of berry bushes along with a front garden of fruit trees and produce to our existing and ever expanding back yard garden that will be more than doubled this year over last years spring and summer garden. We still have out winter garden growing to work around as we create the plans for this coming seasons bounty. I am super excited about all of it! Add in hopeful wishes of dear John's dad moving into his new house soon so I will have the space his dog takes up for some chickens!

Any way if anyone is interested, here is what I am talking about and what we have in front of us to finish up by planting time which is already here for some of the goodies. Our front garden, our side garden and our back garden which I still have more plants to add to the lay out. So as you can see there is more than plenty to keep me busy!

As for the lovely custom goodies I have been working on, here are two of the finished projects.

This first one is a custom elf hat I made for one of my wonderful customers.

The other goody I have been working on is a cell phone pouch.

Hat and mitts (c) Full Knitted Jacket

This great little wool and leather pouch has two pockets, one for your cell phone and one for credit cards, I.D. and cash.

I am offering adult elf and witch hats as well as cell carriers for custom order now. Contact me if your interested.

Pattern for women's elf and witch hats will be available soon and you can find the pattern for children's sizes in my shops now.

I leave you with a  bit of cuteness and a peek into my mommy world...

New goodies

I know I have been a bit flaky on posts as of late. I have been busy with potty training Bear and working on bed time routines which keep me on my toes and a bit worn out.
Some times it is confusing trying to figure out the right way to use something new. So far we have tried wearing our potty as a hat, storing our water cup in it and our cheese sticks. Perhaps she is just trying to cut out the middle man.
In between all the excitement I have been working on a special project for Saxon as well as trying to start up a new shop on Luulla and trying to get some new pattern written up.
Hey those wool soakers for her old cloth diapers are getting a new life as big girl panties!  My floors are already thanking me!
Here is my new shop on Lulla so you guys can take a look. I know not everyone is a big fan of etsy so I like to have other forums for you guys to access my goodies. It will take me a while to get my inventory built up there as strongly as it is on etsy, so for the base of my goodies you will still have to go to etsy, but remember if you find something you really like there now you have other avenues for purchasing, just message me and we can discuss if need be.

Here is what I have been working on for Saxon. What happens to young boy's favorite shirts when they die? They get reincarnated as something new and even better. Saxon's dead Rammstein T is now a hoody! More photos to follow soon.

I finished up my Scottish Thistle mitts and got them listed in my etsy shop. You can find them here... I am working on the pattern for them, and I will be getting the pattern listed as soon as I can. I will be offering the pattern both as a single item and for sale in a Tunisian collection along with mittens, hunters mitts and flip tops once all the patterns are ready.
These mitts are also available in other sizes ranging from women's small (pictured) to men's large and a variety of colors for custom order. I also am offering custom embroidery. These could be great for a loved one this Valentines day, monogrammed, scripted with I love You, or simply adorned with little hearts.
I also finished a pair of Men's mittens as part of a Ravelry challenge. They are available in my etsy shop here ... I am finishing up the pattern for them, and I will be getting the pattern listed as soon as I can. I will also be offering this pattern both as a single item and for sale in my Tunisian collection along with mitts above, hunters mitts and flip top mittens once all the patterns are ready.
These mittens are of course available in other sizes from women's small to men's large (Men's large pictured) and a variety of colors for custom order. I also am offering custom embroidery. These would make a great gift for dads and all the guys in your life this Valentines day, monogrammed, sporting fish, deer, or just plain. They would also be great for mom's and that special gal bedecked in dainty flowers or sweet hearts. In fact I am presently working on another pair in the colors pictured on these mittens but with little red hearts.
Really need a custom pair made just for you? Or simply can't wait for those flip tops or hunters mitts? Message me and we will get you set up with a  custom order!

And remember I do Lay Aways! So do not let those hand made prices scare you off! You can have your very own hand made piece of fiber art!

Truly Ravely

So if you guys haven't signed up for Ravelry yet then you should. It is a wonderful collection of patterns both free and for sale and community of people.

I have been pursuing patterns on there again and have found some items I just must make for Bear! I am on this knitted skirt and cable sweater kick right now! Ugh I just want to make the heck out of some! So far I am keeping myself mostly on the mitten task though, pecking away at getting patterns made up. I swear as a reward once I am finished I am going to make some adorable things just for fun!
