Kitsune are noted for having as many as nine tails. Generally the more tails the older and wiser the fox, a Kitsune may not earn any additional tails until after they are over 100 years of age. One, five, seven and nine tails are the most common in folk tales. When a Kitsune gains it's ninth tail it's fur becomes white or gold. Nine tailed Kitsune may gain infinite wisdom. White foxes, black foxes and nine tailed foxes are considered good omens.A Kitsune over the age of 100 may gain the ability to take human form. Many Kitsune retain fox attributes when in human form.
