Free Pattern Friday

 (c) Full Knitted Jacket, Oct 2011
This week I am offering a free pattern that is an absolute favorite of my daughters!!!

These simple little security blankets are the perfect size to use as burp rags, cuddles, "specials" what ever you and your little one like!

Using one skein of worsted weight cotton or bamboo %100 natural fiber, these little security blankets measure 8-9 inches across and as long as you like, I usually choose to use a whole skein.

Cast on 46 stitches on size 4 needles (can be worked on size 6 needles for a looser drape, but Bear prefers the tighter weave, and the tighter weave tends to hold up better to little teeth and teething babies)

r1 slip on k wise, (p2, k1) across
r2 slip one p wise, (k2, p1) across
r3 slip one k wise, k across
r4 slip one p wise, p across

Repeat these 4 rows 35 times, or till desired length or you run out of fiber.

Work row 1 and 2 ending on round 2, Bind off.

Can be worked wider or longer for a bigger cloth. Just add increments of three to cast on for wider cloth, this cloth just happens to fit my shoulder perfect and be the ideal size for little hands to drag around, cuddle close and hold tight, whether crawling or toddling.

This is Bears favorite snugly, her "special". She loves to cuddle up with it and snooze, its the absolute perfect size for her!
